Getting started
What Breqwatr Cloud is¶
Breqwatr Cloud is a cloud platform built on OpenStack. You create and run instances, storage, networks and Kubernetes clusters yourself, from the Breqwatr Cloud Portal (Strata), the OpenStack CLI, OpenTofu or Ansible.
What you can run¶
| Service | What it gives you |
|---|---|
| Compute | Instances, Windows and Linux, sized by flavour |
| Block storage | Volumes, volume snapshots and volume backups |
| Networking | Private networks, routers, security groups and floating IPs |
| Load balancing | Octavia load balancers in front of your instances |
| Object storage | S3-compatible buckets |
| BKS | Kubernetes clusters that you own and run |
Everything you create lives in a project. The portal also holds what sits around the projects: your organisation, its members and roles, quotas and billing. Billing is in CAD.
Regions¶
| Region | Location |
|---|---|
ca-central |
Ontario, the default region |
ca-east |
Quebec |
Each region is an independent failure domain, and each project has its own quota in each region. Regions and failure domains covers how to use them.
