How-to
Manage member roles¶
Change a person's role in your organisation, remove someone, and choose which projects a member can work in.
Roles¶
Every member of an organisation has one role:
| Member | Admin | Owner | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Create, change and delete resources in projects they can access | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Create and edit projects | No | Yes | Yes |
| Delete projects | No | No | Yes |
| Invite and remove people | No | Yes, except the owner | Yes |
| Change roles and transfer ownership | No | No | Yes |
| See billing and request quota increases | No | Yes | Yes |
| Restrict members to specific projects | No | No | Yes |
An organisation has exactly one owner. Projects, users and roles explains the roles.
Before you start¶
- To change roles or set project access: owner of the organisation.
- To remove someone: owner or admin.
Change a role¶
- In the Breqwatr Cloud Portal (Strata), open Team under Organisation.
- In the person's row, pick the new role in Role: Admin or Member.
The change saves straight away, with "Role updated." Only the owner sees Role as a list; others see each role as a label. Picking Owner transfers ownership: see Transfer ownership.
Remove someone¶
- On Team, choose Remove in the person's row.
- Type
CONFIRMand choose Remove member.
They lose access to the organisation and its projects straight away. Their account stays, and so does anything they built in the projects. An admin can't remove the owner.
Choose a member's projects¶
When the organisation restricts members to specific projects (see Organisation settings), Team has a Project access column, showing each member's projects as a count such as 2 of 5, or All.
- Choose Manage in the member's row.
- Tick the projects they should work in, untick the others, and save.
Owners and admins always see every project; this applies to members only.
Check it worked¶
- Team shows the new role, or no longer lists the person you removed.
- Activity records each role change and removal: see Audit log.
